• Check out what organisation has accredited the person’s qualifications. For example if it is the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF), which is an Australian Government established body with both national and international standing, you can have confidence. There are other worthy accreditation bodies but beware, there are many with minimal standards who provide accreditation provided one pays the set fee. Examine carefully the standards set by the accreditation body and don’t be duped by a prestigious sounding name. Some’ trainers’ issue their own certificates without any external accreditation in which case you might want to carefully examine their background and training before accepting the qualification of their trainees on face value.
